MUSIC VIDEO: Massive Attack ‘Voodoo in My Blood,’ featuring Rosamund Pike – and a floating orb

WHAT’S ON THE MENU: A haunting melody. A long corridor. And a menacing floating orb. No, this isn’t Phantasm – it’s the new music video for trip-hop legend Massive Attack‘s ‘Voodoo in My Blood.’

And Gone Girl‘s Rosamund Pike is its star.

Massive Attack are currently in the midst of a European tour, with Scottish rappers Young Fathers as openers. The track is from their just-released EP, Ritual Spirit. The visuals are from a nightmare. The overall effect is electrifying. Enjoy.

And now for something completely different: YouTuber Christopher G. Brown took stock Teletubbies footage, stripped out the color, and set it to the strains of Joy Division’s ‘Atmosphere.’ Result: Something deeply unsettling, bordering on sinister.

MUSIC VIDEO: “I Fink U Freeky” by Die Antwoord

Looks like this video has been around a while – long enough to garner some 24 million YouTube hits – but it’s new to me. Wikipedia describes Die Antwoord (translation: ” The Answer”) like this: “South African rap-rave group whose style draws from the Zef counter-culture movement. Its vocalists are Ninja and Yo-Landi Vi$$er.” OK, then.

I describe this video as the stuff of nightmares. Dig it. Ten$ion (MP3 download at Amazon); Ten$ion (CD from Amazon)
